I originally drew this picture in graphite, but couldn't resist painting this portrait in pastels. This is my idea of an Ice Aged Female Hunter. I particularly liked the idea of using a Sabre Tooth Tiger's skull as her helmet. This to me is a fundamental part of the portrait.
The joy of fantasy is that it is only my imagination and my artistic abilities, which is a wonderful life long journey in learning, that holds me back.
I used Claire Fontaine Pastel Mat and a mixture of Pitt and Derwent Pastel Pencils.
