This is a framed pastel portrait painting of a Siberian or Amur Tiger.
I have a passion for all the big cats and the Tigers are one of my favourites. Sadly as we all now know, they are an endangered species and I only hope that they will survive for our children, for our children’s children and way, way, way beyond.
This Tiger has been portrayed after sighting his prey; he is now concentrating on stalking it, to get close enough to spring.
I chose Pastel on Velour, as no other media has the ability to enhance fur as well as this paper and the richness of pastels really enhances and brings alive the Tiger’s fur and its colours.
